Giving to the Library
Jeff Steely, Dean of Libraries
Goals & Initiatives
Funds managed by the Georgia State Foundation support collection building, student success, preservation, programming, scholarly activities and other aspects of the University Library’s work. To learn more about individual funds and the goals they support, visit Georgia State University Library Funds.
Donate Materials
The Georgia State University Libraries can no longer accept donations of printed books, journals, and other materials for the general collection. Please consult our Materials Donation Policy for additional information as well as recommendations of other organizations that will accept printed materials.
We welcome gifts of books written by Georgia State faculty that are not currently in our general collection. Please contact Skye Hardesty, [email protected], Head, Collection Development & Discovery, to donate this material.
Would you like to donate historical materials for future researchers? Visit our Donating to Special Collections and Archives page to learn more about donating to our rare and unique collections.
Our Board of Advocates

Other Ways to Help
Planned Giving: Consider including the University Library in your will or estate plan. A deferred gift can enable you to make a significant contribution with profound impact, provide income for your family, reduce taxes and establish a lasting legacy for you and your family at the University Library.
Endowments: Endowments provide endless support to the University Library and enable us to fulfill our mission in perpetuity. We encourage you to contribute to one of our existing endowed funds or make an investment in the library’s future by establishing a new fund. The minimum amount required to establish an endowment is $25,000.
Corporate/Foundation Gifts: The Georgia State Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) facilitates mutually beneficial collaborations, partnerships, and sponsorships in areas such as philanthropy, sponsored research, student recruitment, technology transfer, and continuing education. Contact CFR to discuss making a corporate or foundation gift to the University Library.
