About Us

We are a department of the Georgia State University Library. Our mission is to collect and preserve unique historical materials that connect the Georgia State University community, scholars, and the public to the human experience.

Our collections are open to GSU faculty, staff, and students, to outside scholars, and to the public.

Visit

We are on the 8th floor of Library South (100 Decatur Street SE) in Atlanta.

  • You must present a current photo ID to enter the library and register to use our collections.
  • The week before final exams and during final exams, non-GSU visitors need advanced permission for access. Email archives@gsu.edu to arrange a visit.
  • Please review the library’s Visitor Access Policy for more information about visiting.

You may take photographs of our collections for personal use. Please review our camera use policy for more information about personal photography in the reading room and gallery.
